Timid Love

Come on timid love,
There is nothing left to fear.
Your soul will float like a dove.
Come on, please just last the year.

What is it that scares you so?
You burn hotter than the sun,
But soon turn cold – so quick to go.
What is it that have I done?

Teased by your calming warmth,
How can you expect me to be
So quick to release you forth?
You will always haunt me.

Someday my pain will harness your blame,
And in the morning I’ll walk through.
But for now my heart is mine to tame,
Take up your spine and run me through.
